Duties & Responsibilities:

The Board of Selectmen is responsible for carrying out the executive function of the Town.  The Board's responsibilities are grouped in four broad areas of corporate management:

1.      Management of the municipal finances;
2.      Protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the Town's residents;
3.      Management of public property and personnel;
4.      Management of contracts and relations with other State and local agencies and the public.

The Selectmen are elected for a term of three years and are not limited to the number of terms that they can serve.

Selectmen Meetings are held Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m.  If a resident has a problem and would like to meet with the Board of Selectmen, their office hours are Wednesday 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  To be placed on the agenda to speak with the Selectmen, please contact the Selectmen's Assistant, Beverly Gammon, at the Town Office at 929-5191.
