Patrol Officers - Buxton Police Department
The Town of Buxton is seeking responsible individuals for the position of Patrol Officer. Applications are accepted at any time and kept on file for one year. Candidates will be notified prior to the beginning of an active recruiting process.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 21 years old, in good health, have an Associates Degree or the equivalent of 60 hours of college course work or equivalent work/military history (specialization in Criminal Justice preferred) and must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Applicants must have satisfactorily passed the Maine Criminal Justice Academy ALERT Test, and must also be able to pass an in-depth background check, a polygraph test, a psychological test, and medical examinations.
A physical agility test will be administered as an initial entrance standard. Any candidate who has taken the MCJA Physical Agility Test may submit proof of a passing grade in lieu of attending the Buxton PD physical agility test. However, all candidates will be required to pass the test prior to an offer of employment.
