Community Cupboard
The Community Cupboard is located at 6 Groveville Rd., near the Buxton Center Elementary School, at the corner of Long Plains Rd (Rte. 22) & Groveville Road. The mailing address is P.O. Box 165, Buxton, ME 04093.   Non-perishable food can be dropped off during open hours by calling Betty Robiceau at 207.929-6764. 

Buxton Community Service Food Co-op
The Buxton Community Service Food Co-op is located at 939 Long Plains Road.  This is the brick building across the street from the church parking lot, at the intersection of Long Plains Rd (Rt. 22 and Haines Meadow Rd., near the Buxton Center Elementary School. The food co-op is open Tue., Fri., and Sat., from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

York County Community Action
York County Community Action helps to alleviate poverty in York County by providing a diversity of programs and services. Some of the programs offered are designed to meet basic needs, such as shelter, transportation, fuel assistance and nutrition information. Other programs are designed to help their clients build assets so they can become financially independent. One of YCCA’s newest programs “York County Community Health Care” provides medical, dental and counseling services to adults and children.

Counseling Services, Inc.
Counseling Services, Inc. is a non-profit agency. CSI provides mental health, substance abuse and supportive services to residents in York County including adults, adolescents and children. CSI currently provides services to over 6,000 residents in York County. CSI is funded by private insurance, MaineCare, federal grant funding, municipalities, the Maine Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of Substance Abuse, Maine State Housing Authority, United Way of York County and private donations, and foundation grants.

Caring Unlimited
It is the mission of Caring Unlimited to work with the community to end domestic violence in York County. This includes providing support and a safe haven to women, their children and men whose lives are affected by domestic abuse in a manner that honors their essential worth, nurtures their inherent strengths and respects their right of self-determination. Caring Unlimited offers a 24-hour hotline, support groups throughout York County, advocacy at four local courthouses, emergency shelter and transitional housing and services programs and more.

HomeHealth-Visiting Nurses of Southern Maine
This agency is fully licensed and CHAP accredited not-for-profit home health organization. HomeHealth provides nursing care, rehabilitative therapy, parent & child care, home health aides, counseling & emotional support, community health & wellness, lifeline – Emergency Response System along with telehealth services for patients covered by Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party payors. Financial assistance is available for those without insurance or resources. Services are offered 24/7 throughout York and Cumberland counties and surrounding towns.

Southern Maine Agency on Aging
The mission of the Southern Maine Agency on Aging is to assure that older people in southern Maine, especially those who are frail, isolated, or living on low incomes, receive the support necessary to maintain their independence in the community.

Southern Maine Agency on Aging provides assistance for people age 60 and over in a defined geographic region serving York and Cumberland counties. Services include information & advocacy to help seniors and their families find and access benefit programs and resources that can help them age with dignity and independence. Other services include Meals on Wheels and Senior Dining Centers, Congregate Housing services, bill-paying assistance, minor home maintenance and repair and grocery shopping. Child Abuse Prevention Council
The Child Abuse Prevention Council is a community-based non profit organization committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect in all its forms throughout the county. Through education, collaboration and advocacy, the council engages in programs and activities which foster the well-being of children and families healthy and nurturing relationships among children and adults.
