Transformers being moved 7/29/25

Tomorrow night (July 29th, 2025) CMP will be moving very large transformers to their job site on Emery Circle beginning at approximately 9 PM. This move will be taking place into the early morning hours of July 30th. These pieces of equipment are very large and require a police escort.

The transformers will be leaving Rumery Road in South Portland at approximately 9 PM. They will travel down Route 1, utilizing both lanes of travel. State police will be escorting and closing the road in accordance with the needs of the move. The transformers will turn onto Broadturn Road in Scarborough and travel to Route 22 in Buxton to Skip Road. They will travel on Skip Road until Emery Circle and travel down Emery Circle to the CMP access road. They will be traveling extremely slow at 5-8 miles per hour. The move is expected to take 5-7 hours.
