Duties & Responsibilities include
Each municipality is required to appoint an Animal Control Officer (ACO) to enforce local and state animal welfare laws.  The Animal Control Officer is responsible for the enforcement of the state and municipal animal welfare laws. Although the ACO’s duties are limited to domesticated animals, the ACO also responds to calls involving wildlife when rabies is a concern
