The Town is Seeking a Transfer Station Booth Attendant

TRANSFER STATION BOOTH ATTENDANT

The Town of Buxton is seeking applicants for the position of Transfer Station Booth Attendant.  Starting wage is $16.00 per hour.  This is a 24 hour per week position working Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.  The job entails managing an entry booth for the Buxton Transfer Station/Recycling Center.  Duties include checking residency status, assessing fees for waste disposal, receiving cash and check payments, making change, operating an electronic cash register, and accurately filling out a daily cash sheet.  This position requires a high level of interaction with the public.  The Booth Attendant is required to give direction and information on recycling, waste disposal, composting, and curbside trash pick-up.  Attendant is expected to communicate effectively, remain calm and professional in highly stressful situations, and learn and follow the Booth's Standard Operating Procedures.   Applications can be picked up at the Buxton Transfer Station or Municipal Building at 185 Portland Road, Buxton, Maine.  Send Resume or completed application to Buxton Transfer Station, 185 Portland Road, Buxton, ME 04093, or email gheffernan@buxton.me.us Contact Greg Heffernan, Transfer Station Manager at 207-929-3913 for more information.
